…Might be easier yet to install a flat bulkhead internally , forward …maybe a foot or two aft of the ‘real’ bow and stop there… then act as if THAT is the end of the forward end of the boat( with much easier access as well)….(laminating as usual)…Then, after de-molding, attach a solid hunk of light density foam and fair it in accordingly…then glass/finish it on….presto! Instant sacrificial crash box… My $.02 worth…
Exactly what I did. Viewed from aft, it is the purple bulkhead in there. Good catch.
