I have been tempted to walk away from this job more than once. I decided I could warp the hulls enough to carry 700 kg of motors. 1543 lbs of outboards. It is for daycharter out of Miami but they didn’t know the USCG would require railings. I’m at version 21 now.

New 55′ Powercat
I am doing this 55′ foam/glass powercat for a repeat customer. I don’t know what is wrong with the windows.

They are back.

A Sailing Cat Becomes a powercat
This 44′ catamaran to be built in Tampa was originally envisioned as a sailing cat. It would use the Sunny Days 42 hulls extended. Using CM construction.
Owner decided to make it a power cat instead.
Miami Bed Boat
I got a commission to design a niche charter cat for Miami. The customer has built boats before but knows nothing about cats nor naval architecture. With the outboards they insisted on, the adjustable swim platform and its mechanism, the Cg is a full four feet aft of Cb. I am having a hard time convincing the builder this is bad. i may have to walk away from this one. Foam/glass.
79′ In So Cal
This 79′ day charter power cat is being designed for a group in California. They have been delightful to work with. Good project. Foam/glass.
Lake Chelan Ferry Launched Again.
Its back in the water with new hulls. The previous builder’s hulls delaminated.
the New Lake Chelan Ferry Hulls
Cliff got master builder Joe Kitchel to come up and do a Berlitz class on boatbuilding for Cliff and the boys. It worked. Beautiful hulls with no delamination. It took place in an abandoned fruit warehouse nearby. It was well insulated so they could run the temperature up as needed.
38 Power Tri Pictures
I don’t think that I have seen these pictures of my 38′ power tri. The amas are too small.
10m power cat update
At the end of 2018 I posted a power cat hull build. Upon completion of the two hulls, they were picked up by the owners and taken home to Maine to build the crossbeams and cockpit, as well as fit engines, electrical, etc. I’m happy to report that the resulting boat looks spectacular, and the owner/builders say that the shakedown cruise went well, with a smooth dry 20 knots. stock props.
