Lunar Lander Painted
The lunar lander dwelling got squirted with the 2 part poly that I needed to get on before the weather got colder. So I’m back in the office getting to everyone’s projects now.

Not multihull content, but composite content. Last Friday at midnight, a 120 mph wind (according to neighbor w/weather kit) hit the lunar lander lower floor awaiting painting. Hold-downs parted and it tumbled and flew 135 feet. It is photographed here in the street ready to be moved back. Only damage was fist size crush where it hit … Continue reading Flying Lunar Lander
While it is obvious all the boat tech things that have gone into the lunar lander dwelling, several ideas from that spaceship have helped my multihull design. The first is a new view of lighting and interiors. My designs have always leaned toward vehicle and less to habitat. The interiors were flat white and throw … Continue reading Technology From the Spaceship

Wireless 12v switches. No need for wires to the lights from the switches. No batteries. On composite boats, and composite tiny houses, this is huge. No need to cut into the composite to hide wires, nor fasten the wires to the composite surface. Built in dimmers and smart light sorting too. Around $320 for a … Continue reading Wireless Switches
OK, I bought the boat. It should be in Seattle in late August. Its been great working with Gregg the owner. He wants to see it tied up at the lunar lander.
Yesterday, Monday, I was going to dive into the work for everybody. As soon as I got up I got a text informing me that my lunar lander dwelling had been engulfed in a wild fire overnight, but was probably OK. I had to speed over and see what was damaged. I was amazed. It … Continue reading Oops, Lost One More Day.
Part of what I am doing on the lunar lander dwelling project; building a tiny house using boat construction, is to test the limits of many techniques and products. I took the VHB tape past its limit. I tried to use it to attach an acrylic shower door without any fasteners; a worthy goal. While … Continue reading VHB Tape Fail
I was a little scarce last week and the week before. The Seattle Times is doing a feature on the lunar lander dwelling. It had to get substantially finished for the photo shoot by last Thursday. Built like a boat with epoxy and vacuum bagging. The usually away-team problems compounded by metal fabrication that didn’t … Continue reading Back. What This Time?
