Its being taken apart at Shilshoe today ready to be shipped to Holland. The 6000 series aluminum bolts held up pretty well for 11 years in salt and some 5 years in fresh water.

Gecko comes apart
This makes it real for me. First step in going away is lowering the mast. I remembered that her construction was featured in issue #1 of Professional Boatbuilder. I will post that article as soon as I get it. Meanwhile,
Back
Back in the office after a week in Alaska. My room was number 5200. How cool is that? http://www.3m.com/product/information/Marine-5200-Adhesive-Sealant.html
I got the new composites construction manual into Pagemaker/Indesign and about 90% done. After about a week it will be in the do-no-harm stage and I can send it out on CD to KHSD composite boat builders. I can’t polish it until weather gets colder. Too many epoxy projects to do first. What, $20 as a CD to not yet builders? With free update when I finish in October, and deductable from plans in future?
The new CM construction manual is about 99% there. Is there any interest in seeing it as a print manual? Those would not have the hot links, but it would be a book. I have to see what the printers want for it and how much all-color photos hurts. Let me know.
New Pictures 37 Tri
I got some beautiful pictures of Stefan’s KHSD 37 tri Yantri. See http://www.owi.bz/collection/?uid=2d7e2b81-d66d-4376-883b-4aa98cb02673
It might be for sale soon.
Gone this Week.
I will be out of town this August 9 through 17. I may or may not have phone and web access. I will take the workstation with me and be working on your projects.

the Next Ferry for Lake Victoria
Here is the next KHSD 65′ catamaran ferry for Lake Victoria in Uganda. CM developed plywood and epoxy once more. Sheathing is triaxial roving. It is also being built in Everett, and again by Thain Boats. http://www.thainboats.com/
Some of the crew yesterday.
Visit to Jim Betts Shop
I had to chance to visit Jim Betts’ shop in Anacortes again yesterday. I thought I would see how Alex’s new mast is coming along. He has a new CNC cutter! No need to get in line at Janicki any more. See http://www.jbeinc.com/

Tropical Sailing
I seem to have my head down this week submitting as many USCG heavier passenger documents as I can. Pontoon boats are to blame for all this, but thats for a later time. So for now, a nice tease. Spirit of Lauderdale (formerly Yellowbird). A KHSD 48.

And in the winter, they have the Moondance Cat (KHSD55) which normally resides in Buffalo in the summer. And some other cat I don’t recognize (ya hear, Roger?)
Wow
Simmo blows my mind with this great picture. He is sailing his KHSD24 trimaran. The latest in a whole line of amazing stills and videos.
