I’ve always wondered what would happen to a boat with bows like this catamaran if it hit a floating log that was perpendicular to the boat? I’ve seen photos of a cruise ship with a dead whale caught on its bulbous bow and cutwater. Any ideas?
same as plumb bow at the waterline. most of the force vector is horizontal anyway. logs at speed are always damage. On Gecko I made the ama bows with a half meter of solid 100 kg foam for that reason. Cat bows and main hulls might jump up over but a pressed ama would not.
