  1. I’ve always wondered what would happen to a boat with bows like this catamaran if it hit a floating log that was perpendicular to the boat? I’ve seen photos of a cruise ship with a dead whale caught on its bulbous bow and cutwater. Any ideas?

    BTW, this is a sharp looking catamaran.

    1. same as plumb bow at the waterline. most of the force vector is horizontal anyway. logs at speed are always damage. On Gecko I made the ama bows with a half meter of solid 100 kg foam for that reason. Cat bows and main hulls might jump up over but a pressed ama would not.
