First run at a new 48 cruising cat using the Outsider 48 connectives. Flared hulls.

Short Leila Vid
I almost forgot about this short video of Leila at Holo Holo Charters. The hulls were built rapid construction using a CM developed plywood female mold. In those days we surfaced the mold with epoxy and that presented some work finishing it. Now I would squirt it with Hi-Build only. Then wax and PVA. Quick and wonderful shape.
Once again video only lives on Face. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=953417014686587
Nice Pic of Aolani
NY Cell Structural Foam
Anton was wondering about NY Cell PVC foam. Numbers seem to be similar to divinycel but I have no experience with it. Price is said to be much better. Has anyone here used it? There is this link but it is not terribly useful. http://www.pvc-core.com/

149′ Trimaran Ferry Update
Link for the 37 Cat
Maybe I knew or not, but here is the link for the KHSD 37 built in Brazil. http://www.aladin30.com.br/photo_cat_netuno_388.php
I wish it didn’t have the fin keel and it seems to have some trim issues. Almost every plan has a weight/trim spreadsheet that the build is supposed to keep updating with.
M & M Charter 45 Cat Build
I always like seeing projects where cost is no object. This unit probably cost the same as 2 or 3 of the Yellow Bird 48 catamarans and I see no big difference. And its plans surely cost 10 times what mine cost. Why can’t more of my guys not care what it costs?
Sorry but its only on Face at this time. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=794415187299084&set=vb.134835713257038&type=2&theater
Another Infusion Technique
It was posited as a new infusion technique. Reminds me of Ollieland 10 years ago. https://www.youtube.com/embed/_J6SGZZolbU
Sarabi Dismasted
I just got word that my 56 cruising cat Sarabi broke her Forespar Aerorig. They are safe at Richmond, CA. I should find out a lot more soon. I would have expected a carbon unstayes mast failure as close to impossible.
I have not heard back again yet so still only guessing but I can only think of a couple of possible scenarios.
One is the roller furling system. I recall they often had trouble with it. What if it bound up in a gust and the sheet was not blown in time?
Many years ago I was an expert witness in a case against Forespar for a really unnecessary mast failure. In deposition they declared that they never follow the design documents; they do it their own way. What if they freestyled this one too?
More On Nootka
I got a lot of links from several people. Thanks. The pictures were informative to me. It did look like there was not enough bury for the Aero, but the report was not that the rig was dismasted.
Hard to tell about the beams, but nothing jumps out at me as trouble. It is a very different arrangement than Wharram would do. It’s much heavier. I wonder if it took a beating from the underside?
